A 67-year-old Indiana woman was arrested after authorities say she drove onto the lawn of a county courthouse and began doing donuts in her car.
The unusual incident happened Monday afternoon outside the Jennings County Courthouse in North Vernon, Indiana.
Video released by the Jennings County Sheriff's Office shows a vehicle repeatedly driving in tight circles across the grass in front of the courthouse, passing trees, light poles and a bench. The vehicle also appears to strike a sign before leaving visible marks across the lawn.
Authorities identified the driver as Lorraine Wilkerson, 67, of North Vernon.
According to reports, Wilkerson was arrested following the incident and booked into the Jennings County Jail. She faces charges including operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to 0.08 or more. Her bond was reported at $950.
The sheriff's office shared the footage while also warning people not to drive after drinking and to arrange a safe ride home instead.
What makes the footage particularly striking is the location: the alleged joyride happened directly on the grounds of a courthouse, with the vehicle repeatedly circling across the lawn.
The case remains an allegation, and the charges against Wilkerson will be handled through the local court system.
