Angel Reese grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds for the Atlanta Dream on Monday, breaking a 23-year-old WNBA single-game rebounding record and the league's single-season rebounding record in the same night, as Atlanta beat the Los Angeles Sparks 78-71.

Reese's 26 boards surpassed the previous single-game mark of 24, set by Chamique Holdsclaw for Washington back in May 2003. She also finished the game with 458 rebounds on the season, six games still remaining, pushing past A'ja Wilson's single-season record set in 2024. Reese added 11 points, 3 assists and 3 steals, notching her WNBA-leading 27th double-double of the season on a basket with 13.9 seconds left.

The record night capped a dominant West Coast road trip in which Reese averaged 20.8 points, 15 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.5 steals on nearly 58% shooting, including a career-high 31-point game against Phoenix and a 20-point, 10-rebound, 8-assist performance on 9-of-9 shooting. "I just want to be consistent for my team," Reese said. "Offensively, defensively, whatever it takes to win." Dream coach Karl Smesko credited her improvement: "Angel's been remarkable on this trip. You can see her getting better each month."
