This 10-second dashcam clip has the entire internet arguing about who is really at fault.
A video shared by @shadymentol on Threads has now racked up over 461K views, 4.4K likes and 394 comments. The caption says:
"This is genuinely one of the most infuriating videos I've seen. That smug smile says she really thinks there won't be consequences."
But the full story behind it is even wilder.
Incident Breakdown
According to the original poster - a Texas man named Eric who posts on TikTok as @slightlytoxicco - here is what actually happened:
The Argument Eric was driving his newly purchased vehicle - you can even see the orange temporary dealer tag "TCC" hanging from his mirror. His girlfriend, Lisa, took his phone and began impersonating him via text to his own father and his best friend, pretending to be him.
The Watch Notification To stop her without grabbing the phone while driving, Eric used his Apple Watch to send a voice text to the chat, clarifying: "That's Lisa texting, not me."
The Crash When the Apple Watch read his message aloud out loud, Lisa became enraged and tried to snatch the watch off his wrist WHILE he was driving, then grabbed the steering wheel. The car swerved and crashed.
Thankfully, both were physically okay. The same cannot be said for the brand new car.
What has people FURIOUS is her reaction after.
In the extended footage, Lisa shows zero remorse and refuses to apologize, saying:
"I don't know what you want from me."
Eric later explained in a follow-up video that this wasn't the first time - he said "he's used to that behavior" and that her lack of accountability was a pattern in their relationship.
Who Is At Fault? The Internet Is Divided
The comments are completely split:
Some say Lisa is 100% at fault for grabbing the wheel while the car was moving and putting both their lives at risk over a text.
Others say Eric shouldn't have provoked her by exposing her on his Watch while driving, and should have pulled over.
But the majority are saying this is a major red flag for a toxic relationship and that crashing a new car over a fake text is insane.
"This would be the end of our relationship. Immediately." - top comment with thousands of likes
The video is still spreading fast on Threads, TikTok and Instagram.
Who do YOU think is at fault here? Was the Apple Watch move justified, or should he have waited?
