Kelsey Mitchell scored 33 points on Friday to set the WNBA's single-season scoring record, as the Indiana Fever defeated the Toronto Tempo 103-85.

Mitchell Breaks the Record

Mitchell surpassed the previous record of 1,021 points, set by A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces in 2024, with a third-quarter three-pointer. She finished the game with 1,034 points on the season, shooting 12-for-17 from the field and 7-for-11 from three-point range. She also extended her own WNBA record by scoring at least 20 points in a 25th consecutive game.

Clark's Return

Caitlin Clark played her first game back after helping Team USA win the women's FIBA World Cup in Germany. She finished with 28 points and matched her season high with 14 assists, her 14th double-double of the year, while shooting a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.

How the Game Went

Indiana shot 64.5% from the field in the first half and led 53-50 at the break after building as much as a 16-point lead. Toronto rallied in the third quarter but couldn't sustain it; the Fever pulled away with a 20-7 run in the fourth. Toronto's Laura Juskaite led the Tempo with 22 points, with Kiki Rice adding 18 and Isabelle Harrison and Temi Fagbenle each scoring 16. Toronto played without guard Marina Mabrey, out with a right adductor injury.

The win was Indiana's third straight and its eighth in its last 10 games, improving the Fever to 27-14. Toronto, an expansion franchise that started 9-9, has now lost five straight and sits at 11-30 overall.
