The Latin Recording Academy announced nominees for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards on September 16, with songwriter-producer Édgar Barrera leading all nominees with 10 nominations.
Barrera Dominates the Nominations
Barrera's 10 nods were driven largely by his work on projects by Karol G and Carín León. Trailing him with seven nominations apiece were Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler, Karol G and Rosália. Singer-songwriters Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte each picked up six nominations.
A Stacked Album of the Year Field
Ten releases are competing for Album of the Year: "Equilibrivm" (Anitta), "Free Spirits" (CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso), "Taracá" (Jorge Drexler), "Vendrán Suaves Lluvias" (Silvana Estrada), "Tropicoqueta" (Karol G), "Femme Fatale" (Mon Laferte), "Muda" (Carín León), "La Vida Era Más Corta" (Milo J), "¿Dónde Es El After?" (Rawayana), and "Lux (Complete Works)" (Rosália). The nominations span 60 categories, covering the eligibility period of June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026.
Who Is Édgar Barrera
Barrera, a Miami-based Mexican-American songwriter, producer and musician, has become one of Latin music's most in-demand hitmakers, previously winning Latin Grammys for Producer of the Year (2021, 2023) and Songwriter of the Year (2023).
What's Next
Voting runs October 1-12, with ballots cast by recording artists, songwriters, producers, recording engineers and mixers. The ceremony will be held November 12 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airing on Univision.
