A tour bus carrying Filipino tourists overturned on a highway near Buchloe, in the Ostallgäu region west of Munich, Germany, around 6 a.m. local time on September 27, 2026. At least 2 people were killed and at least 8 others were injured.

What happened
The bus left the roadway and overturned onto an embankment, according to Fürstenfeldbruck police spokesman Martin Cornils, who said six people were airlifted by rescue helicopter and two others were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals. One person was reported in critical condition. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear and remains under investigation.
Reports vary on the exact number of people aboard, with figures ranging from roughly 33 to 50 passengers. Outlets consistently describe the group as predominantly or entirely Filipino tourists. Some reports describe the bus as traveling toward Munich, while others describe a Zurich-to-Milan route; IF Daily has not been able to independently confirm the exact origin and destination.
The response
Philippine consulates in Frankfurt and Munich said they are in close contact with German police and other relevant authorities. "We extend our deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones and our thoughts to those injured," the consulate said in a statement. "The consulate is ready to provide consular assistance and support to those affected and their families."
The crash comes weeks after a separate tour bus crash in eastern Switzerland killed five people. This is a developing story; IF Daily will update as more details are confirmed.
